"Vivaldi (Antonio) wrote himself the
dedicatory p. S.A.S.I.S.P.G.M.D.G.S.M.B., the instruments names, some Solo and Soli
indications, the bass numbers, and several other indications destined to change the version of
the concerto: some crosses or circle (probably to cut sections), letters A, B, C, D (certainly to
substitute some solos, writing them in a separated -and lost- paper, like in other compositions),
phrases to give to the oboe some of the violin solos, or lines crossing the text over to cancel
some sections. All these indications are taken in account in the present edition."
